Frequently Asked Questions

BioGeometric Integration® (BGI®) is a lens, a language, for understanding, promoting, and explaining the connection between the chiropractor’s expression of Innate Intelligence and that of the person who seeks skilled and nuanced chiropractic care. Immersed in chiropractic philosophy that will simultaneously ground and challenge participants, the seminars are largely in-person and hands-on, with a companion online program to be completed before each seminar begins.

Our foundational Geometry seminar courses cover the Posterior, Anterior, Sagittal, and Coronal planes. Each is a separate, distinct course that builds on the one before it. The seminars must be completed in this order the first time, but you can always revisit earlier ones.

Start with any of these:
– Posterior Geometry and Osseous through a BGI® Lens weekend
– Posterior and Anterior Geometry weekend
– Introduction to BioGeometric Integration® through Establishing Continuity (15 CPD points preapproved by the SNRC)

Amy Burke, D.C., and Valerie Pennacchio, D.C., are the Lead Stewards of BGI Europe Seminars and were both trained by Sue Brown, D.C., specifically to teach BioGeometric Integration®. Every chiropractor who teaches any part of a BGI Europe Seminars® weekend has received specific training and guidance in how to teach this precious body of work, which is very different from simply knowing how to do it. You will be in wonderful hands.

All seminars are taught in English; a fluent Builder of the Field who speaks the host country’s language is always present to support the learning process. The online portion is in English. Subtitles are available in German, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Swiss German. French-speaking video content is also available. Written notes have been translated into German, French, and Spanish by Builders of the Field.

A Builder of the Field has completed all four BGI® foundational Geometry courses anywhere in the world. In acknowledgement of their commitment and investment, we offer a discount on all foundational seminars.

No specific BGI® experience is required for your first foundational seminar. Registration is open to licensed chiropractors and to actively enrolled chiropractic students with a valid student ID.

Unless a seminar’s listing states otherwise, course materials — manuals, notes, and related digital content — are included in your registration. Travel, accommodation, and meals are your own responsibility.

It’s your responsibility to confirm that a given seminar meets the specific requirements of your own licensing board or association before registering. We’re not responsible for a credit being denied, reduced, or revoked by a third-party accrediting body. If you would like us to apply for CPD recognition with your country’s professional organization, please send us all the relevant information, and we are happy to complete the application.

Full details, including fees and deadlines, are in our Terms & Conditions. In short: cancel more than 45 days before your seminar for a partial refund, or transfer to another date in the same calendar year at any time. Registrations can’t be transferred to someone else.

Yes, on request — reach out by WhatsApp or email, and we’ll work out a schedule with you.

Each seminar’s page lists its own upcoming dates and locations. We run seminars in multiple cities throughout the year.

These are hands-on seminars, and we ask you to let your instructor know before participating in any exercise that could be affected by an injury or condition. You’re always free to opt out of any specific hands-on exercise, as either practitioner or recipient.

Yes — once you’ve completed the required instruction hours and the quiz sent to all participants at the end of the seminar, a certificate is issued by email. If you need it reissued later, a small administrative fee applies.

Seminars may be photographed or filmed for use in our marketing. If you’d rather not appear in published materials, just let us know in writing and we’ll do our best to exclude you.

Advanced Seminars are open to Builders of the Field — chiropractors who’ve completed all four foundational Geometry seminars.

About Amy Burke, D.C.

When Sue Brown, founder and developer of BioGeometric Integration®, was in an early phase of expansion for BGI®, I was part of her Staff Training program that began in 2001/2, almost 25 years ago. That was the first Staff Training program led by Sue Brown herself.

At a certain point, she told three people in the group that she felt we were ready and able to take on a teaching role and suggested we start by holding “playshops,” which reinforced the concepts at the heart of BGI®. As one of those three people Sue chose to teach, I led playshops in the United States and in Europe for years.

My commitment to being part of Sue’s staff was multifaceted. I supported her at Arno Burnier’s Masterpiece Training Camps in both Colorado and Europe. I attended many seminars specifically to learn how to teach, debriefing with Sue on what worked and what didn’t. I attended many seminars a year as an observer, as an assistant at the tables, and as part of the team that supported the seminar experience through checking people throughout the seminar.

When Sue was unable to travel to Europe due to her health, she called and asked me if I would teach a seminar in her stead. Without hesitation, I said that I would. Only after I hung up did I realize the weight of what I had agreed to do, but it didn’t matter. I would have done anything she asked me, not only to help her and BGI®, but also because I knew that if she was asking me, she believed I could do it.

In the last eleven years since Sue’s death, I have taught over a hundred seminars. It is a huge commitment, and I love introducing the concepts that make BioGeometric Integration® special and unique. I love empowering chiropractors to be the best versions of themselves rather than aping someone else’s skills.

Over time, I have not only become an outstanding teacher, but we have developed a teaching program that is exceptional: enriching the teaching material with visual aids, clinical notes, 3-D digital models, and videos of demonstrations and explanations in several languages. I see the quality of the work, the ownership of the material, and the depth of knowledge that people possess from the first seminar weekend. It has served BGI®, strengthening its field, and it has served those who have gone through the program online and in person.

Keeping BGI® Alive in Europe

When Sue was dying, she asked Valerie Pennacchio, D.C. – her best friend, BGI® Master, and former Vice Principal of four chiropractic colleges across the world – and me to please keep BGI® alive in Europe. We have done so, at both personal and economic cost. It has, however, worked. BGI® is flourishing in Europe. What we have created is our gift to Sue’s legacy.

The BGI® Trademark

One of the first things we did was protect BGI® by securing registered trademarks for BGI®, BioGeometric Integration®, and evolving the future of chiropractic®. The use of these trademarks is extended to people who have completed the four foundational Geometries. We extend the right of use at no charge. Zero. We make zero money from the trademarks.

What we do, however, is protect the use of the words, letters, and concepts represented by the terms BGI® and BioGeometric Integration®. Use of the trademarks is also offered to BGI® Masters and to anyone who has completed the foundational seminars anywhere in the world, upon completion of a simple form.

There has been a select group of people who have chosen not to use the trademark when describing BGI® while marketing events in Europe. I have asked them personally, multiple times, and then through legal means, either to use the ® or, if they refuse, not to use the words, letters, and logo associated with the trademark. The sole purpose of the trademark and its usage is to ensure that what is being described as BGI® comes from the intellectual and clinical heritage of Sue Brown.
